Plenty to Learn (and CECs too) at Next Week’s BICSI Fall Conference & Exhibition

September 8, 2018 / General

At the upcoming BICSI Fall Conference & Exhibition on September 9 – 13 at the Henry B. Gonzáles Convention Center, San Antonio, TX, there are plenty of opportunities to learn about the latest technologies, and Fluke Networks is excited to bring you the latest on testing everything from advanced four-pair PoE to passive optical networks (PONs).

How does Your Fiber Design and Installation Stack Up?

With new fiber types and applications, and a little bit of a “Wild West” mentality where pretty much anything goes when it comes to fiber deployments, what formula do you use to determine if your data center fiber design is acceptable for both today’s and tomorrow’s high-speed applications?

As part of the TIA’s Fiber Optic Technology Consortium, our own Jim Davis along with other industry experts will be holding the seminar The Fiber Formula—Fact, Fiction & Fantasy to equip you with the information you need to qualify and quantify your data center fiber infrastructure while ensuring industry best practices and standards. Worth 3 CECs, this seminar will take place on Sunday, September 9th from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

3 CECs for PoE

While PoE has been around for quite some time, the introduction of advanced higher-power four-pair PoE, otherwise known as Type 3 and Type 4, is taking PoE from an occasional power source to the significant force in powering the IoT and intelligent buildings. With advanced PoE now capable of powering everything from digital signage and advanced pan-tilt-zoom cameras, to LED lights and even desktop computers, there are new requirements affecting cabling design, installation and testing.

To learn all about what designers, installers and maintainers need to know when working with the future of remote power delivery, come join me along with other industry experts in the pre-conference seminar Four Pair PoE: Powering the Future of Intelligent Buildings and the IoT, Monday, September 10th from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the BICSI Fall Conference. And it’s also worth 3 BICSI CECs!

Need to Test PON?

With the increased use of PON, are you curious about how to specify the field testing and strategies for field testing? On Wednesday, September 12th from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., you can join Jim Davis again to learn about Field Testing and Troubleshooting of PON LAN Networks per IEC 61280-4. He will tell you everything you need to know to do field testing of installed PON Networks in a LAN environment.

And for hands-on demonstrations and one-on-one time with our experts, stop by the Fluke Networks Booth #321 during exhibiting hall hours. There you will also have the chance to win any number of prizes – from labelers and tool bags, to swag gear and even a DSX-8000 Category 8 CableAnalyzer™ copper cabling certifier. Hope to see you there!
