Can 660 certify the contents of LMI that shows Status Enquiry and how LMIs are being exchanged including Active bit and New bit to see the status of PVC?
Yes, we will count and decode LMI frames even in monitor mode for both directions (one at a time). If we are monitoring in the Network to CPE direction, we can see the full status reply message from the switch and break-out all of the DLCI values including the Active/Inactive/New/Deleted bits.
If we are monitoring in the CPE to Network direction, we will scan the traffic for any transmissions on any DLCIs and add them to the DLCI list (there is no full status reply message to see in that direction). We assume that all of the DLCIs in the list are of an Active status when monitoring the CPE to Network direction. We cannot measure the Active/Inactive/New/Deleted bits in this direction because those are only available in the full status reply message which is seen in the Network to CPE direction. By toggling to each direction and running Monitor, you get the complete results.
