|Sometimes, the DaVaR Test column of the Test Engine displays N 123456789 where 123456789 is some phone number. There are 2 situations that can cause this to occur.|
If there is sufficient noise on a working line, it is possible that the NetTests DTMF receiver did not recognize all the digits returned by the ANAC device. Examine the returned number carefully and compare it to the C.O. data. For example, the C.O. Data for a pair may be 701-555-1234 and the DaVaR Test column will display N 5551234. In this case, the last digit of the phone number was lost and does not match the C.O. Data.
Invalid Telephone Number Format
With the addition of an alternative ANAC number in v8.4 of the NetTest software it is possible to get a mixture of 7 and 10 digit phone numbers during testing. If there is not a 7 digit Telephone stored in the test profiles then a returned 7 digit number will not match any of the valid TN Formats and will be treated as a N (no returned). For example, the C.O. Data for a pair may be 701-555-1234 and the DaVaR Test column will display N 5551234. Here, no area code information was returned. To solve this problem, add a 7 digit format to the Test Profiles TN Formats.
DaVaR v8.4 software should have the proper 7 digit TN Format setup, but if you experience the problem above, please contact the DaVaR TAC group to have a new TN Format table set up to add support for 7 digit format to the Test Profiles TN Formats.
