Cable Type (Library) - DTX CableAnalyzer

If you are a Cable Manufacturer wishing to have your cables included within the DTX Cable Library, please click here.

When selecting Cable Type from the SETUP, the user is presented with four options. The selection here will define the NVP (Nominal Velocity of Propagation) or n (Refractive Index) for your Autotest.
Changing the Cable Type (NVP) only affects the length reading. It does not affect any other test parameter. If the cable you are testing is not listed in the library, you can create it using the Custom Cable Feature.
If a manufacturers cable is not on the list, find out the NVP from the manufacturer and enter it manually. If this is not possible, you can use the tester to determine the NVP of the cable.
Differences between measured and actual length values can be caused by variations in the cables NVP value. NVP values can vary among cable types, lots, and manufacturers. In most cases, these differences are minor and may be disregarded.
