Battery life for the DSP-2000 CableAnalyzer

When fully charged, the battery will last around 8 hours. Fluke Networks enjoys a good reputation for battery life. If this drops to 4 hours, it is time to replace the battery. Please contact Us.

The battery inside the DSP-2000 is a NICAD battery. Although this can suffer from the memory effect, history has shown this not to be the case. Life is rated on the number of cycles. A cycle is where the battery is placed on charge, regardless of its battery status. You can expect around 500 cycles and typically around 2 years although we have seen them last up to 4 years.

In order to extend the life of the battery, the DSP will not charge the battery if the battery status is >75%. Only when the battery status drops below 75% will charging begin.

Part no. BP 7217

Do not use the NiMH battery used in the DSP-4x00 CableAnalyzer. It will not charge it correctly.
