Fluke Networks' COMPAS is a web-based inventory, provisioning, and management system for Central Office elements associated with the main distribution frame. COMPAS also provisions non-inventoried special equipment when appropriate. An intuitive web interface provides real time Central Office queries and facility management.
COMPAS is LFACs ready and supports next-generation networks.
Supports next generation networks
An intuitive web interface gives COMPAS real time Central Office queries and facility management. Inventoried elements managed by COMPAS include telephone numbers, office equipment, F1 cable pairs, tie pairs, and bridge lifters. COMPAS can also provision non-inventoried special equipment and services such as air pressure monitors or data transfer points.
COMPAS supports a wide range of functions from basic inquiries and manual element updates to more advanced functions like automated work order and service order processing. The basic inquiry returns all the information available for the target element. Manual service order intervention is minimized using advanced flow through processing.
Load and balance of the working lines within each switch load group are considered during the equipment assignment process. The assignment of multi-line services is also distributed among line units.
COMPAS supports equipment from many different vendors. The system inventories and assigns services from new technologies such as VoIP and Digital Loop Carriers as well as the traditional Class 5 switch. The multi-tiered, distributed system architecture uses web services to support rapid deployment and enhancements. New facilities and equipment types are quickly added via user customizable application tables.
COMPAS business logic
COMPAS administrative reports enable the administrator and Network Administration Center (NAC) personnel to monitor the health and capabilities of the Central Office facilities environment. Reports allow users to track inventoried element exhaust dates and verify that the Central Office elements are fully optimized.
COMPAS integrates seamlessly with both existing legacy systems and other LoopESSENTIALS modules, forging a single cohesive system.
