The Network Computing Awards were set up to recognize the products and companies that have most impressed the readers of Network Computing, the UK’s longest established networking publication. Awards were presented in 23 different categories to reflect the wide range of applications and services which in some way contribute to the running of a modern day network. Fluke Networks won the Editors Choice award for the EtherScope Series II Network Assistant.

Network Computing looked at 13 different wireless network analysis tools in four key categories: spectrum analyzers, wireless protocol analyzers, site survey analyzers, and wireless performance and security analyzers. Fluke Networks' OptiView Integrated Network Analyzer and EtherScope Network Assistant showed their strengths in the wireless performance and security analyzer category, and they were recognized as solid solutions for "front-line technicians who need to troubleshoot wireless networks; as an added bonus, they also contains solid capabilities for wired networks."

The test lab for eWeek magazine found that the new wireless EtherScope was "quickly able to identify all detected networks, access points and clients, as well as the security posture of each device."
