CNA (National Audiovisual Center, Luxembourg)

Both as a platform open to the general public and a professional institution at the cutting edge of technology, the National Audiovisual Center aims to make the audiovisual arts accessible to all. The CNA was founded in 1989 with the mission of preserving, enhancing and promoting Luxembourg’s audiovisual heritage. The center has commissioned and produced numerous projects, including movies, documentaries and photographic exhibitions. The institution’s complex structure and ambitious work eventually outgrew its original site, and the CNA moved to a new building in 2008 where they then migrated to a complex and mixed 10 Gigabit network for running its operations.

With 30 employees and various different facilities (two movie theaters, a 450-seat auditorium, a studio, video installations, DVD production facilities, etc.), a whole range of network problems can occur, such as a lack of connectivity, slowness or attempts at intrusion. Having previously had to deal with network problems, Jean-Marie Spartz decided to choose an adapted network analysis solution even before moving. Among other things he wanted to have a complete overview of all the hardware, software, applications and connections on the network.
